ecoPower:
Develops, sells, installs, operates, and services Floating-Windfarms-at-Sea™, using floating vertical axis wind turbines (“Floating-VAWTs™”) – to generate ‘green’ electricity at low costs from strong wind at sea!
In a strong wind region at sea with annual mean wind velocity of 9.5 meters per second, a 100 MW Floating-Windfarm-at-Sea™ is projected to generate 360 million kWh of electricity per year.
We expect to reduce the costs of electricity from wind at sea to less than those from coal-fired power plants in the coastal regions by: (1) technology improvements to further increase the energy production; (2) quantity production of Floating-VAWTs™ in low-cost manufacturing areas; and (3) placing GW-scale Floating- Windfarms-at-Sea™ in regions at sea with strong wind.
In many regions of the world, the wind velocity is higher than that on land and over offshore shallow waters! Wind power at sea is even stronger, as wind power is proportional to wind velocity to the third power. A 26% increase in wind velocity will double the wind power! As such, the Floating-Windfarms-at-Sea™ will enable us to convert the rich and abundant wind energy resources at sea to 'green' electricity around the world at low costs– to greatly reduce the global energy, air pollution, and climate change problems!
