Dr. Wang is a Distinguished University Professor at the University of Houston; and designated to be the new Director, National Offshore Wind Energy Center - Houston.

He is also the Director, Composite Engineering & Application Center (CEAC), Univ. of Houston – specializing in the applications of composite materials to offshore structures.

He was formerly a Professor at the University of Illinois; and the Director of National Advanced Composite Materials Center in Urbana, Illinois.

He received his Doctor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA.
